Episode 73: Loup-Garou

ioranaks, maitaiks ? anyways this was quite a long week let's get into it monday was good comme d'habitude, we actually got together as a district and went to the beach to hang out. the elders made crêpes and we brought toppings. basically we just kinda messed around for a little bit because there's honestly not much to do at the beach when you can't swim, so we ended up playing Loup-Garou (werewolf; basically the same as mafia) and signs. we waded in the ocean a bit but being shin-deep in water, even if it's Tahiti, is not terribly exciting, so that didn't last long. but overall it was a good time ! we sat under some coconut trees though and we were all scared that one of us was gonna get bodied by a coconut. mais malgré ça c'était bien passé.  if eating crepes for lunch wasn't enough, we also had them for dinner that night. we did a family home evening with this inactive family in our sector. they're super cute and it was fun!  Tuesdays crowning ev...

Episode 70, 71, 72: Tahitian Pills, Cyclones, & Big Miracles

aloha kakou !  WEEK 70 waited too long and forgot what happened. will consult the journal later. WEEK 71 Monday was super fun. it was off to an interesting start however, as I had gotten basically no sleep the night before. I took a pill that the local pharmacy gave me to help with some pain and it basically destroyed me. I was in so much pain the entire night that I kinda just drifted in and out of sleep. soooo lesson learned, maybe don't take random foreign pills?  the big event for Monday was the multizone conference with Elder and sister Wakolo. it was super great! they shared a lot on the importance of the doctrine of Christ, and the importance of our call as missionaries. that night was even better though, because one of the families in our ward invited us over to eat dinner, and they also said they had a reference for us. this references name is Christopher, and he's friends with all the young adults, which is how this family found him. basically he wants to get baptise...

aloha kakou, pehea oe? no more 3-4 week emails. I'm a changed person now. so here's some weekly highlights! Monday was pretty cool, it was pday and we all got to come together as a zone for a little bit. that night we also went to a family home evening for the Tahito family, which was super fun. we played some games with them and had a really good meal at the end. we also got transfer news that my comp is going to Makemo, a tiny island way off of Tahiti! tuesday was pretty crazy since my comp now had like 24 hours to say goodbye to everyone haha. so we were basically just bouncing around the sector all day, except to go to the doctor, which was less bouncing and more waiting for 2.5 hours. I was there to ask about some back pain, and she told me to go swimming. it was kinda awkward and funny explaining that missionnaires aren't allowed to swim -- she looked really confused lol. we also had a huge miracle on Tuesday: we finally set a baptismal date for herehia !! sooo excite...

long time no see, my bad ! anyways, here's some glimpses of the last 4 weeks. WEEK 65, 66, 67 I'm only gonna put the best of the best in here for these past 3 weeks. you'll have to consult my mission journal for the rest. so, here's some highlights from these weeks: - we had a blitz in our area! that's basically when all the missionaries in our district go into one area to go contacting. we sent everyone to their own little spots and let them loose.  - we did some cooking with one of our members! I would say I learned how to make chow mein but I definitely dont remember how it was done - we filmer Facebook videos with the Facebook elders ! so just saying, keep an eye out for some fire videos on our mission's page - found some awesome new friends!  - new years was fun. well, we didn't really do anything except for wake up at midnight to celebrate for like 5 minutes and then go back to bed. but good luck on sleeping because literally everyone was blaring their...

WEEK 63 joyeux noël tout le monde ! I hope you guys had a wonderful christmas! kinda fun that it falls on pday/monday this year hahah.  this week we had our mission xmas conference -- it was super fun to see everyone! we had some talks given, some trainings, etc, then we ate and played some minute-to-win-it games. no mean to brag but I was the captain of my team so I'm basically super cool. I also did MyPlan this week, which is basically a course for planning your life after the mission. it was kinda crazy that we were already doing it, cause that means we're old missionaries, but again it was super fun to see all my MTC friends ! Christmas eve was super fun -- we started out with church, and church itself was pretty interesting. they had like a Christmas music program going on and they started sacrament meeting by singing "walking in a winter wonderland", which I'm pretty sure isn't very allowed lol. after that they sang a few more songs that weren't hymn...

wow look at me only a double email this time and not a triple!  anyways these past two weeks have been good. ill start with transfer news: unfortunately I left my wonderful wonderful magnificent Pare secteur and was transfered to Tiapa, in the Paea/Punaauia zone. but no biggie because I love it here too !! <3 WEEK 61: this week was pretty fun. we had no member meals tho so we asked our bestie Sœur Doris (the best member ever) if we could possibly eat with her one night. so she graciously brought us over, and it was really cool because we got to talk with this girl and her mom that she was hosting! they were from Utah and the girl is gonna start her mission here in March! so I'll just barely miss her, which is so weird. it was so cool getting to talk with them tho and help her find out what to bring/not bring! (pro tip, bring lots of nail polish) the next night we ate w Sœur Doris again and she brought us out to eat. after we'd finished our meals we were preparing to share a ...
