Episode 73: Loup-Garou

anyways this was quite a long week let's get into it


monday was good comme d'habitude, we actually got together as a district and went to the beach to hang out. the elders made crêpes and we brought toppings. basically we just kinda messed around for a little bit because there's honestly not much to do at the beach when you can't swim, so we ended up playing Loup-Garou (werewolf; basically the same as mafia) and signs. we waded in the ocean a bit but being shin-deep in water, even if it's Tahiti, is not terribly exciting, so that didn't last long. but overall it was a good time ! we sat under some coconut trees though and we were all scared that one of us was gonna get bodied by a coconut. mais malgré ça c'était bien passé. 


if eating crepes for lunch wasn't enough, we also had them for dinner that night. we did a family home evening with this inactive family in our sector. they're super cute and it was fun! 


Tuesdays crowning event was this activity we did in this neighborhood at one of our members houses. she had us come over and basically teach a horde of children how to make cookies and brownies. it was so chaotic oh my gosh, I was trying to figure out how to say "back up" in french because these kids had no sense of personal space lol. but we succeeded eventually, and then all the kids went out and delivered cookies to invite people to our family home evening that were having for the neighborhood this week !


OK Wednesday! today was actually the day for the family home evening and it went really good! we had a huge turnout of like 50 people so it was a huge success ! the presentation was all about the book of mormon and I think it helped a lot of our friends. but before the soiree we had a lesson with Christopher! it went super great as usual, he's just such a champion. they also did a mini brangue (basically like a jam sesh with ukuleles and guitars) and it was so so fire. they even dedicated a song to me cause I'm leaving haha. they were like "its about tahiti and its for you because youre leaving soon!". it was actually so so cute. I love them so big. 


Thursday we just had some more lessons with kauana and Christopher. I swear every time we have a lesson with Christopher, we just come out so spiritually edified and so happy. they're just such good lessons. anyways so at the end Sœur Maite (one of the member fellowshippers, and basically the auntie of all these young adults) asked us if we had a meal w someone that night and we said no, and so she invited us to dinner that night, which was actually the birthday of Christopher's girlfriend Mirihau. so after soirée sportive we went back to their house and celebrated her birthday, which was super fun! we had some bomb chicken and cake, but then we started playing games like Pako and Loup-Garou again. I was a wolf in Loup-Garou and I got found out pretty quickly which was embarrassing but oh well.

wow look at me only a double email this time and not a triple!  anyways these past two weeks have been good. ill start with transfer news: unfortunately I left my wonderful wonderful magnificent Pare secteur and was transfered to Tiapa, in the Paea/Punaauia zone. but no biggie because I love it here too !! <3 WEEK 61: this week was pretty fun. we had no member meals tho so we asked our bestie Sœur Doris (the best member ever) if we could possibly eat with her one night. so she graciously brought us over, and it was really cool because we got to talk with this girl and her mom that she was hosting! they were from Utah and the girl is gonna start her mission here in March! so I'll just barely miss her, which is so weird. it was so cool getting to talk with them tho and help her find out what to bring/not bring! Episode 33: The Jeweler's Hands

Bonjour tout le monde ! This week was suuuper fast, but it was a great week! Didn't get sick this time, which is always a plus. We had an amazing visit with an inactive member this week.  The work in our sector has been suuuuper slow going, so this visit really boosted our morale. We went over with the Winters and one of our members, and shared cookies with the inactive member and her family. It was just a really great, friendly visit that reminded me how awesome the work is :^) On Saturday we were at the house of one of the missionary couples in our district, and the wife (Sœur Winter) takes my comps necklace and starts cleaning the chain with a rag. She pulls too hard though, and the chain breaks in three pieces. My comp looks thoroughly distressed as the chain for her favourite necklace is broken, so I quickly say something like "don't worry Sœur, I'm a master chain fixer", knowing full well I've never fixed a chain in my life. Episode 26: Dune

Well hello there, howdy, greetings ! I've officially moved into my new sector, Pirae 1. It's right next to Papeete, so it's city and suburbs. But our house is suuuuper far from our area so we gotta bike through like 3 areas just to get to ours hahah. My first day biking in the city was very scary, I thought for sure I was gonna smash into a big Ford Raptor and that'd be it, but now I'm doing great! Basically a pro. On Friday night our whole district got together and ate Macdo while our district leader explained the entire plot of all three Dune books to us for like 30 minutes. From what I understood, it's basically if Star Wars and the Bible had a baby? There may even be more than 3 books, but I wouldn't know, because we stopped him at the end of the third book after half an hour. Not gonna lie though... now I kinda wanna read Dune.
