Episode 61, 62: Code Orange

wow look at me only a double email this time and not a triple! 

anyways these past two weeks have been good. ill start with transfer news: unfortunately I left my wonderful wonderful magnificent Pare secteur and was transfered to Tiapa, in the Paea/Punaauia zone. but no biggie because I love it here too !! <3

WEEK 61:

this week was pretty fun. we had no member meals tho so we asked our bestie Sœur Doris (the best member ever) if we could possibly eat with her one night. so she graciously brought us over, and it was really cool because we got to talk with this girl and her mom that she was hosting! they were from Utah and the girl is gonna start her mission here in March! so I'll just barely miss her, which is so weird. it was so cool getting to talk with them tho and help her find out what to bring/not bring! (pro tip, bring lots of nail polish)

the next night we ate w Sœur Doris again and she brought us out to eat. after we'd finished our meals we were preparing to share a lil message when suddenly we got a message from our DL (district leader/elder who is in charge but only like a little bit) that was like "get home right now. code orange. will explain later." so naturally we were like "what in the heck does that even mean, did someone die or something???" but apparently (unbeknownst to us) we were actually in the middle of a cyclone and the government had deemed it code orange. Sœur Doris was like "pshhh we've been in a code orange for like two days" hahahah. needless to say we got back in one piece and weren't washed away by the downpour so huzzah

WEEK 62:

this week was good! started it off with a member meal which included our friend Maxime -- he's a Tahitian papi and he's so precious. I love him. the meal was super great, and it was a great way to make relations w our members and friends!

on Wednesday we officially broke up the trio. soeur Jacobson decided to be super rude and flew off to raiateia. so after that it was just me and Sœur Gulbransen until the next day, when it was my turn to be rude and leave. 

this sector's good! tiapa is a lovely little corner of tahiti. I've only been here for a little under a week so I don't know too much or too many people, but I do know that the ward is super super awesome, and all the people I've met so far have been super fun! we've had some really fun member meals especially. all in all it's all going pretty good over here, slow but steady. but we're gonna try to ramp it up!

for a little pensée spirituelle, I've been thinking a lot about the character/nature of God recently. I really love 1 Nephi 11:17, which says "And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things."

basically, we don't have to have a perfect knowledge of all things to know that God loves us perfectly. we are all His children, and His love is infinite. these are all precious, eternal truths. I'm super grateful to have a Father in Heaven who not only knows and loves me perfectly, but every single person around me as well.
