Episode 55, 56, 57: Practically Senile

TRANSFER NEWS:

So I'm finally leaving Moorea, but I'm pretty much going back to my last sector lol. I'm going to Pare, which is neighbors with Pirae 1. So this'll be my 6th transfer in Mahina/Arue zone lol. I'm trio pinkwashing with Sœur Gulbransen and Sœur Jacobson tho so pretty exciting !!

WEEK 55:

I'm not near my journal so this week will be a mystery to you all, désolée. You'll have to ask me about week 55 when I'm back.

WEEK 56:

This week kicked off great. On our last pday in Moorea, we all decided to have a picnic at the beach. We spent some time wading around on the shore catching little crabs and starfish. That night, we went to go get pizza, and as we were waiting, our mission president and his whole family pulled up, which was pretty awkward because I was still in a t-shirt lol. So after a quick change in the car (which was unfortunately noticed, not sneaky enough) we all ate pizza together. It was quite a swell time.

The day before I left, one of our friends, Leo, invited us over for lunch. When we showed up there were a bunch of people there, including an Elvis impersonator who sang us a song, which was sick. Lunch was carrément tahitien, there was taro, raw fish, cooked fish, and fafaru (fermented fish). I finally tried fafaru after a year of being a missionary so now I can say I arrived in Tahiti. The best part though was the poe banane -- it was soooooo gas. Highly recommend.

The next day I finally arrived back in Tahiti after 4 months away! It was fun to see people. Me and my new comp couldn't move right in just yet, so we stayed in Mahina for the night. But good thing we did, because I got to see a family from my first area, the Rangomates! They are seriously the sweetest. They were just collecting coconuts and we happened to cross paths! It's super fun cause Sœur Jacobsen just came from that area too, so we both knew them hahaha. They gave us some coconuts for the road and we took some pictures.

We went contacting on Saturday and met this chinese papi. He was pretty chill, we had a nice conversation with him about his family. Before we left I gave him a paper heart that said "Dieu vous aime" (God loves you) and he looked at it and was like "Dieu vous aime... ET qu'il vous protége. C'est mieux, ça." (God loves you.. AND that he would protect you. That's better.) He was so funny, he kept repeating the phrase by saying the first half and then looking at me for me to say the second half. I guess I gotta up my paper heart game.

WEEK 57:

I've picked up poetry here. By that I mean I've started writing my very cool thoughts into my Notes app. See an example below; don't be fooled, it's not Shakespeare, though I can understand why one might think that.

Not so fun fact of the week: got signed up for My Plan. Mission-wise, I'm basically senile now.

Overall great week -- Sœur gulbransen arrived so our duo became a trio, and wow do I love these guys. Soeur Jacobson and gulbransen are legitimately some of the funniest people ever so we've just been laughing all week. We all share a deep love for minecraft so basically we're so incredibly unified. Please try not to be jealous of our companionship, but if you just can't I understand.

This week we hit up a bunch of... everyone really. The elders didn't leave extensive notes so our solution is just walking around and finding where people and things are. Grey points, members, friends, inactives, etc etc etc. We are also on foot because my bike is still on Moorea. Womp womp. Some of our member Meals live directly up à mountain so we've been having some fun night time hikes. But I always have my cute lavender colored pepper spray from Target so I'm basically covered. Nobody can get close. But I don't think anybody would want to anyways because we're pretty loud and probably really annoying sounding.

For a spiritual thought I just have more of an invitation really. My invitation for you all is to make something or do something nice for someone and then, unannounced, just show up and give it to them. Show them that you care! You may think it's not much, but a little charity goes a looooong way. Promise!

Anyways, sorry for the length. That's about it -- thanks for reading, luv u all!
