Episode 50, 51: Ugly Little Gremlin Kitten
Yooraannaa tatou ! Here's some stories from the past two weeks.
WEEK 50:
This week's been good. Honestly like the longest week ever but still good.
We had transfers this week, and I'm staying here in Moorea. My comp, Sœur Tatafu, got called to go open an island called Rurutu, so she dipped on Thursday. She was seriously the best, I miss her so much :') I got a new comp, her names Sœur Sandford, and she's super awesome. She's Tahitian so hopefully I'll get to work harder on my french this transfer.
We went out to go say bye to some members the day before Sœur Tatafu left, and it was kinda chaotic. First we basically sailed across the biggest puddle in the entire world, it was blocking the way into a neighborhood. We might as well have swam. The member wasn't even home, so we went back across the lake and biked off with mud up to our knees. After that we went and visited a different family, who was home, and who had the ugliest little gremlin of a kitten I've ever seen. I loved it so much. Pictures below. There was also an ambulance involved at one point but that's not important.
A lot of our friends have been canceling on us this week, which is pretty sad. One family has been canceling on us the last few times, and they say they aren't home, but I know deep down in my little heart that they *are*... it's just a matter of catching them. So this week we're gonna catch them and make them feel the Spirit SO big. They won't even know what hit them.
WEEK 51:
We keep having more and more apocalypses. I've never lived with so many bugs in my life. Honestly it is not enough to just kill them, I need to tell them off or something. Tell their mothers about their behavior. They don't even pay rent!
We've been preparing Aukai's baptism a lot this week thru finishing lessons, deciding who's gonna give what talk, etc. He is so so ready! He's basically teaching us at this point. He was recounting the story of Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness -- we didnt even ask him to do that, he just kinda popped off. This kid is crazy.
The Haumi elders had an activity on Friday that we all went to, it was about genealogy and the plan of salvation. It was a really good activity, but the bugs all decided to rush the chapel at that very hour, so it was had not to open your mouth without eating a bug.
In terms of miracles, yesterday we decided to go visit a mami/friend that I hadn't seen since my first transfer. Her name is Lorraine and she's so cute. When she saw me she was like "I thought you were gone for SURE!" rip I guess I probably should've visited her sooner.. but she was great, we shared some scriptures and then later explained that we are not the Jehovas Witnesses. We might go over to eat with her one of these days. Nevertheless, it was just great to see her and it was a miracle she was finally home, and that we were able to share a moment with her.
This weekend was General Conference, and it was suuuuuper great. I loved hearing our prophet speak, and there were so many amazing talks that provided some great personal revelation. My favorite was from Elder Phillips, and I wish I could highlight my favorite part, but I don't have my journal, nor access to a transcript, soo... just trust me. It was super great. What were your guys' favorite talks?
Anyways that's it, I love you all so much !! Til next time :^)
