Episode 49: Some Monsoon, Monsoon, Monsoon
hey howdy hey here's an email for today
This week was very rainy. Like very very rainy. One morning I woke up to the rain and I thought it was a giant truck passing our house instead of buckets of water pounding our roof.
Anyways this week was good ! We were pretty busy, but mostly with meetings and conferences.
The first meeting of the week was on Tahiti, so we took the boat over there early in the morning. It was also raining pretty good, and when the lady on the P.A. system of the boat says the seas are rough, you know you're in for a ride. Not gonna lie, we all almost chucked it, but managed to survive somehow. But the meeting itself was really good -- it was all about safety and security, and it was given by Elder Burgess, an area 70 from New Zealand. He's super cool, and pretty funny. After the meeting I got to talk to a bunch of other missionaries too which was super fun. To top it all off, my favorite senior missionary couple made me a sheet of guava flavored cinnamon rolls, which I begrudgingly shared with the other Moorea missionaries.
On Friday Elder Burgess gave a talk on the other side of Moorea that we got to go to. It was a really good talk, but what made it was the entertainment afterward. All the Moorea wards put together songs and dances for him, and they were super good. They even pulled him onstage to dance too lol. So fun.
We had some fun lessons and visits this week. Aukai is doing awesome in his progression, we just taught the 10 commandments and he had a great time with the hand signs game that we do for it. We also found this mami while contacting, and she's super elect. And super lonely, I think. She talked to us a lot about her background in knowing our church, and then somehow we ended up being introduced to her husband via FaceTime. Hopefully we'll go back tho, she's so so cute and honestly so elect.
This weekend was also stake conference, also featuring Elder Burgess. He talked about the covenant path, Covenants themselves, and how we should be looking at our journey as disciples of Christ. It's not the end if we fall off the path for whatever reason, because of the atonement of Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, our goal is to march forward with an eye single to exaltation, taking it little by little, day by day, covenant by covenant.
P.S. I broke another car. Tried to unlock the door of our rental and the unlock peg thing just.. came off. Door won't even open anymore. They'll probably ban me from even going near cars.
Anyways that's all -- have a great week, I love you all sooo big !
