Episode 21, 22: The Kind That Heaven's Fixing Up For You

WEEK 21:

Alorsss this week was interesting hahah. Our car got swapped out with our STL's car, because our car works and theirs is... special lol. Her name is Bessie, though it should probably be Lightning McQueen. This baby just *flies* at a whopping 60 km tops over the single Tahitian highway (AKA barely rumbling down the road). Also, make sure you don't go up hills. Or go too far. Or put the key in too hard. Also make sure it's not too hot outside. Because then Bessie won't start, and you might be stranded on top of a giant hill for a second. I may or may not speak from experience



Anyways tons of good stuff this week! I'm short on time yet again but I'll put in my favourite miracle. We went over to one of our members homes, the Sentana family, for dinner earlier this week. When we got there they told us that they'd actually invited some of our friends too! That was such an awesome surprise because honestly our wards been kinda hupe hupe (lazy) when it comes to missionary work haha, but yeah! They invited our friends Lucien and Poeiti, and it went so so awesome! We had dinner and played games with them, and it was just a really awesome way of seeing some of our members' love for our friends.



Oh yeah, we were contact teaching these two young people this week and when we were getting to know them and shootin around the "ça va's" and "vous allez faire quoi ce soir's" they were like "were gonna go out" and I'm like cool cool and they go "you wanna come with us?" And I'm like "yeah of course" and they're like "really?!" And I say no haha lol but I ask what they were gonna go do and they're like ".. umm clubbing? Obviously?" Lollll



WEEK 22:

I saw a bird sprint across the street. Just a little sparrow. Literally walking/sprinting across a busy road. I dont know why but it was the funniest thing to me hahaha.



We had a baptism this week!! Yayyy!! It was for Tevainui, who is the absolute cutest kid ever lol. She's so precious. It went so so good and she's been so excited to be baptised for weeks now. And THEN huge miracle, a BUNCH of our friends came to church! We had an inactive family come that we've been trying to get to church for 3 transfers, a bunch of kids, and ahhh it was just sooooo so good :'))



We've been listening to this one song a lot this week; it's called "warm glow", and some of the lyrics have new meanings to me now that im on my mission. My favourite line from this song is:

"Sky gone a certain shade of blue,

The kind that heaven's fixing up for you."

That line makes me think a lot about all the many blessings of heaven that we have to look forward to, not only in the next life, but this one, too! We can find traces of heaven and glimpses of eternity on earth each day if we only look for them.

Episode 33: The Jeweler's Hands

Bonjour tout le monde ! This week was suuuper fast, but it was a great week! Didn't get sick this time, which is always a plus. We had an amazing visit with an inactive member this week.  The work in our sector has been suuuuper slow going, so this visit really boosted our morale. We went over with the Winters and one of our members, and shared cookies with the inactive member and her family. It was just a really great, friendly visit that reminded me how awesome the work is :^) On Saturday we were at the house of one of the missionary couples in our district, and the wife (Sœur Winter) takes my comps necklace and starts cleaning the chain with a rag. She pulls too hard though, and the chain breaks in three pieces. My comp looks thoroughly distressed as the chain for her favourite necklace is broken, so I quickly say something like "don't worry Sœur, I'm a master chain fixer", knowing full well I've never fixed a chain in my life. Episode 26: Dune

Well hello there, howdy, greetings ! I've officially moved into my new sector, Pirae 1. It's right next to Papeete, so it's city and suburbs. But our house is suuuuper far from our area so we gotta bike through like 3 areas just to get to ours hahah. My first day biking in the city was very scary, I thought for sure I was gonna smash into a big Ford Raptor and that'd be it, but now I'm doing great! Basically a pro. On Friday night our whole district got together and ate Macdo while our district leader explained the entire plot of all three Dune books to us for like 30 minutes. From what I understood, it's basically if Star Wars and the Bible had a baby? There may even be more than 3 books, but I wouldn't know, because we stopped him at the end of the third book after half an hour. Not gonna lie though... now I kinda wanna read Dune.
