Episode 13: Grind Time

Bonjour bonjour bonjourrrr

So this emails gonna be pretty short because 1.) Somehow the island/mission phones have all lost connection, so I fear if I send an email too big I might blow up the island and 2.) It's pretty crazy busy over here

Anyways today's the last day of the transfer (aaaaah time is lightning fast) and I'm gonna be staying in Mataiea for this next transfer let's goooo! This is my companions last transfer so we're gonna just absolutely grind. It's gonna be awesome.

We found some awesome new friends this week, I'm really excited to see their progression. One of them is 17 and is going with 30 other people in our ward to America in April to go see General Conference, so we're excited to teach him. We're also gonna be doing an English class for our ward, mostly for the people going to America, but just for everyone in general! I'm pretty excited about it, I think it'll be fun. We also got to do our very first service project this week, which are apparently hard to come by in Tahiti. We helped one of our members fix up her garden and along the way I found this maaaaasive crested gecko, he was huge and so so cool. I spent like 5 minutes just holding him until I let him jump on a palm tree. Godspeed little guy

There are a bunch of things I gave up when I came out here. In order of importance, some of them include, but are not limited to:

1.) My family

2.) My cat

3.) Going to an Arctic Monkeys concert

4.) My guitar

5.) American cereal that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and 50 pacific francs on top of that

6.) Maybe like.. snow or something

Lol in all seriousness, all of these are things that I love. But there's no doubt in my mind I made the right choice to come on a mission when I see the faces of the people when we're teaching, or hear the testimonies of our ward members, or realize all the incredible miracles we saw in a day. I'm so lucky to be out here! That doesn't mean it's not incredibly hard sometimes. But it does make it easier when I realize how special and limited this time is for me, and more importantly for those I'm serving.

Anyways, that's about all for this week. Have a great week everyone, I love you all !
