Episode 3: Crying In Front Of Dorothée

Bonjour tout le monde!! I hope you're all doing well -- this has been yet another week in the MTC. It still feels like I've been here for literally ever but it has been brought to my attention that we've been here for a whopping two weeks and two days The weather has been nice here. At least I think it has haha. It's a bit cold at times but honestly I kinda like it -- plus Timpanogos got some snow this week because of the weather and it's the best view from our classroom now This week started so chaotically. On Monday night me and some other sisters were out in the hallway of our dorm building before bed, just chilling having a great old time, when one of the sisters just gets this look on her face for a second before saying she was gonna pass out. So she proceeds to do that, some help comes super quickly, and me and a couple of the other sister go down a different hall to give them space. As we're rushing away we go past the bathroom and see another girl just a...

Fourth week as a missionary!! It's going great! I really don't know how to introduce these so I'll just roll right into some stories and things hahah On Monday night me and the other sisters/sœurs met this tahitian sister who is going to serve in Montreal. She has the most wonderful accent and she is just the nicest person ever. She was telling us all about Tahiti; she specifically thanked us for "going to serve her people" (her words), which just made me so excited to go and do her proud hahah. She told us that it's incredibly incredibly important for us to be learning tahitian alongside french because the locals will respect you and trust you 1000x more. She said that if you speak tahitian, even just a tiny bit of broken, conversational tahitian, that the people will immediately be interested in you. Most people who go to the islands don't bother to learn any, and we as missionaries aren't even planning on staying very long, so why would we want to l...

Salut tout le monde! This is my first ever missionary email! Woo-hoo!!! Buuuut this is my third week as a missionary. I just haven't had that much stuff to talk about yet hahaha.  I arrived at Provo MTC on Wednesday. I'm writing this portion of my email on Thursday night. It feels like I've already been here for like two weeks. But when I'm finished it'll probably feel like it was a day. I'll be here for 7 weeks though, so we've got a ways to go. My district is my favorite part. For anyone who doesn't know, your district (at the MTC) is basically a bunch of other missionaries who you'll spend a lot of time with and typically learn the same language with. Usually districts are made up of missionaries going a bunch of different places, but my district is ALL going to Tahiti!!! I love it! We're waiting on two elders to arrive still, though, as one of the is from Canada and the other is from England (New development: the Canadian elder just got his v...
